Veterans Day is Always a Very Special Day at Walmart.

That's because as a company founded on service and dedication, it allows us to celebrate and thank all the heroes who've made our success possible and who make us all proud to be Americans. Every year, Walmart Corporate as well as thousands of individual Walmart and Sam's Club locations hold celebrations and events to honor those who've served.

Photos to Commemorate our 2015 Celebration

  • National Anthem

The festivities began with the posting of the colors by Cadets from the University of Arkansas ROTC and associate Candace singing the national anthem.

  • Walmart Choir

The Walmart Choir sings the service medley as our associates and guests stand in honor of their branch.

  • General Stanley McChrystal

We were honored to receive the keynote address from General Stanley McChrystal. General McChrystal’s thoughtful message illustrated every life changing decision our service men and women make from enlisting, serving, and returning to civilian life. As well as the role civilians play in showing gratitude for a job well done.

  • Kathy Roth-Douquet

Kathy Roth-Douquet, CEO of Blue Star Families and champion for military families across the nation, was one of Greenlight A Vet empowering partners who participated in the celebration.

  • Doug McMillon & Patrick Shannon

During the celebration, Doug talked with Store Manager Patrick about his service. Patrick is a staff sergeant with the Army National Guard and also spent nearly a decade with the Marines. He earned a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and the Sam Walton Hero Award for his actions during a firefight in Iraq.

  • Flag Presentation
