LIFE IS ABOUT TRANSITIONS. MAKE A SEAMLESS ONE TO WALMART.
Your time in the military sharpened your leadership, focused your dedication and put you on a path with purpose. Walmart appreciates the contributions and sacrifices you have made, and in turn, we’re committed to your future. Right now, we know that one of the biggest needs facing veterans is employment, as well as the tools necessary to prepare for a career outside of the military.
Veterans Welcome Home Commitment
On May 27, 2013, Walmart launched a commitment to provide jobs to recently separated veterans. Those who have been honorably discharged from active duty since Memorial Day 2013 will have priority access to open jobs with Walmart and Sam's Club throughout the United States. Walmart provides a myriad of jobs at store locations, as well as select distribution centers and main offices. By 2020, we project to employ more than 250,000 veterans with this commitment and believe that every recently separated veteran can find employment with Walmart.
Veterans Champion Program
We know that veterans returning from active duty face big hurdles when they transition back into civilian life with a regular job. This is why we’ve introduced our Veteran Champion Program – a formal, institutionalized onboarding process that positions new veteran associates for success and makes them confident in us and in their ability to succeed in the work environment.
