We value your strength too.

As one of the largest employers in the country of military families, Walmart appreciates and employs military spouses’ skills and experience to the fullest.

In a career with us, you will become part of a larger team that values who you are while rewarding you for your contributions. You’ll advance your career while giving your family more. And you will help better people’s lives by saving them money.

Everything that’s important to you is important to us. Whether it’s you who wants to join our team, or it’s your spouse who is considering a career with Walmart or Sam’s Club, this is the environment in which you both will thrive. Called one of the Top 100 Military-Friendly Employers by G.I. Jobs, Walmart has a strong reputation of supporting where military families have been, who you are, and where you and your family can go.

“The company’s values and culture are very similar to the military’s,” says Michelle, a former maintenance control officer for the U.S. Army.

We offer many partnerships and programs (Employer Support of the Armed Forces and Military Spouse Employment Partnership) tailored specifically for military families with the kind of training, assistance and family resources you need to better your family’s quality of life. And the Walmart Foundation was established with the intention of providing opportunities that improve the lives of underserved individuals in our communities, including the disabled, veterans, military families and victims of natural disasters.

Take better care of yourself, your family and your community at Walmart and Sam’s Club.

“Moving is stressful enough, especially for Army families,” she says. “Knowing you’ll still have a job is such a relief. I’ve been welcomed at each new store as a Walmart family member!”

For the past 18 years, Walmart has been with LaShonda Griffith and her family every step of her journey.

LaShonda’s husband Todd is a master sergeant in the Army. Thanks to Walmart’s Military Family Promise, she’s been able to switch to a different Walmart each time Todd has had to transfer.

She began her Walmart career in Watertown, NY, and has worked at Walmart stores from Killeen, TX, to Hinesville, GA, to Secaucus, NJ to Honolulu, HI to Tallahassee, FL. Her current position at a Grocery Distribution Center in Receiving is in Tumwater, WA.

LaShonda’s goals include joining the management program. “I’m excited about where I’m going to go with
Walmart,” she says.
“I’ve been able to move
and acquire knowledge
at each stop along
the way.”
